soft, warm, yatra body
curls itself around me in the
darkness of the early morn..
i lie awake, cocooned,
soft breathing, gentle shifting,
slight patters of rain
trees blowing..

sleepy kookaburra rousing
the light sliding
towards us
shuffles, snuffles
quickened movements
(tracking down the only shower?)

bell sounds
yatra awakes
to a new dawn
endless possibilities
how will it be today?

luxurious yatra
weaves snakelike body
down Mountain, beside, over Caldera,
near clear, still, and running waters..

beaching itself at last on eastern shores dissipating and dissolving
in final joyful release
atop the glowing lighthouse ridge..

farewell yatra!
.. one and all..
so grateful I took the time to get to know you
so grateful for our friendship
laughter
warmth
trust
and joyful faces..

may we continue to recognise Earth's riches..
before, beneath, beside, behind, above..
us all...
always..
